Company history

dragonboatevents.ch GmbH was founded in 2000. Daniel Schmid and Felix Meier are active athletes in dragon boating. Over the years they have gained experience at numerous major events such as European and World Championships. Active, as participants. The first big coup came in 2001 when dragonboatevents organized a race in Montreux for the Swissair management. Today, dragonboatevents' clients include an impressive number of renowned companies.

Besides, dragonboatevents has made a name for itself in the organization of major events: For example, the dragon boat race in Eglisau and the dragon boat race at Zürifäscht.

In 2007 and 2008, the young entrepreneurs set another milestone: they launched the Dragon Boat Cup – a national racing series for fun and elite teams from all over Switzerland, with races in Eglisau, Zurich, Rorschach, and Biel. With more than 100 participating teams and over 2000 participants respectively, Switzerland reached a new size in dragon boating.

Since 2009 dragonboatevents is responsible for the charity race "Paddle for cancer". This is a wonderful festival which supports people with cancer and dragonboatevents is happy to support and to improve this with our services and knowledge.

Team

They are friends who have been snowboarding together since their teens, celebrating parties – and turned their shared passion into business. In the beginning, Dani held the reins of dragonboatevents.ch. But then there was a change of strategy and a change of roles. No problem for the duo: the joint venture quickly got on the road to success and also welded the two together as friends.

The pionier

Felix Meier

He is the motivator par excellence and only satisfies his high demands. Mediocrity is not his thing – lucky for the customers, because his service mentality is unbeatable. Only the best is good enough. In this water, the managing director of dragonboatevents steers from event to event; more than 50 per year, for more than 15 years. Responsible, enthusiastic and always ready to start a new project.

The jack-of-all-trades

You'd think that as a Grisons citizen, he could only snowboard. But Dani will do whatever he can: He runs a snowboard school, a passenger transport company and always finds a good connection to his guests in the dragon boat. What's more, as a true Grisons citizen, he knows what good hospitality means – and fascinates everyone with his enthusiasm and methodical and didactic skills. His motto: We solve the impossible immediately, miracles take a little longer.
